HOLY WEEK AT UNION AVENUE
/The road to Jerusalem is paved with stories of Jesus teaching his disciples just how to be disciples, and over these past several weeks, we have been learning what it means to live life full to the brim with God’s love. We’ve been assured, comforted, affirmed, challenged, awakened, and invited to be honest with ourselves and with God — and we’ve been blessed, sustained, and strengthened in our walk of faith.
And now, we finally come to Jerusalem where we enter into the great story of Jesus’s Passion and Resurrection once again. We remember the words, the promises, the hopes, the agony and despair, and the vindication of God’s victory of love and life over violence and death. In fact, we not only remember, but we make it alive in our hearts and minds all over again as we come together to praise, to share bread and cup, to lament at the foot of the cross, and to wonder at the mighty act of Resurrection and what it heralds for the life of the very world.
Whether you’ve been looking for a time to get back into the rhythms of church life or are eager to bring to a cadence you practice of faith, please come and share with us beginning this Sunday as we share in Holy Week and experience the miracle of Easter once again.
