President Lewis Reed of the St. Louis Board of Alderman will present his plan to bring an anti-violence, crime-suppression program to St. Louis, Monday, June 17, 7 – 8 p.m., in the Brigham Gallery.

The Honorable Shameem Clark-Hubbard, newly elected 26th Ward Alderperson, has asked Union Avenue to host residents of the Ward and other interested parties as President Reed outlines the initiative, known as “Group Violence Intervention,” which was started in Boston in 1996 and has since been implemented in other cities, including Nashville and Chicago. It targets those most likely to commit crimes with both social services and additional enforcement.
