WELCOME HOME FOR ADVENT

This December, we begin our annual preparations for another feast and another telling of an old, old story. With the season of Advent, we start telling of the story of God's love in Jesus Christ. Christ's story begins with our waiting and longing for the birth of a Savior, the one promised to come and bring us hope and peace and joy and love and light in the midst of our darkness.
As "advent" means "beginning," this coming new year enjoins us to anticipate, celebrate, and inaugurate the advent of God's reconciling love among us through worship, fellowship, and discipleship. It's the advent of a new day at Union Avenue Christian Church, and God is calling us together to make such an advent real.
This Advent, we welcome the Reverend Michael Riggs into the life of Union Avenue Christian Church as our new pastor, and we welcome you to participate fully in this holy season as we prepare our hearts and minds for the miracle of God's Love come to us. We invite you to discover anew the hope that sustains us as we wait for the coming of Christ. We invite you to embrace the peace God promises us. Embody the joy we share in the coming of the Lord. Proclaim the love that is with us and by which we are made one.
Come and share in our deep traditions just as we find new ways to celebrate. Come and join us for Advent, and may we together discover the true gift of Christmas all along the way.
